The Greater Munising Bay Partnership for Commerce Development (GMBPCD) is a county-wide partnership whose mission is to promote business, economic development and tourism in Alger County. The Alger County Chamber of Commerce specifically aims to promote area business. Some ways we accomplish this are by assisting people from outside Alger County who are looking for tourism information, general information about our area, or relocation of a family and/or business. Our office also works with various economic initiatives which aid in visibility, promotion and marketing of our county, and business development. We also host and coordinate community events, such as Rekindle the Spirit and Pictured Rocks Days.
- Email Lists - Promotional email blasts can be sent to the membership listing. Also, we utilize a community email list that is quite extensive and includes several regional news contacts.
- Facebook - Currently, we maintain three Facebook pages in order to promote events and happenings in the area. One page is for the GMBPCD and one for the Alger County Chamber of Commerce. Social media outlets are ever-important these days and we use these for posting events and news.
- Visitor information guides - We send not only tourist info requests, but relocation requests, and economic development packets. Plus, we stock your business brochures at four physical locations: here at the Fuzzy Boyak Welcome Center (across from Subway), the Interagency Visitor Center, the lighthouse kiosk at Bay Shore Park (which is manned in the summer months), and the kiosk at the Shipwreck Tours dock.
- Our Website - Web presence enhancement is ongoing by search engine optimization, and we strive for top rankings in web browsing searches. Member businesses and organizations are listed with all applicable contact information, including a link to your own website, in the business directory.

The GMBPCD/Chamber is offering packages featuring our new website and the advertising opportunities. One of these options will include an internal custom web page, hosted by us. This offers a valuable option to members who are looking for a more feasible web presence.

Business-to-Business (B2B) Discounts
There are several B2B discounts already offered by companies such as Mazzali Insurance Agency and Alger General Agency. You can take advantage of these type of offers and offer some of your own!
We hold a Business-After-Hours up to once a month. As a member, your business has the opportunity to host or sponsor one of these events. Attending them is also beneficial, with the opportunity to meet your fellow business owners and government officials.
We are in the process of organizing and seeking out educational courses, classes, and programs to assist our members and the community. If you have a specific need, please let us know.
Standard Membership is the base membership which, as always, includes your business contact information and link out to your existing website. Also included are existing business services such as social media announcements, networking events, and more. The cost for standard membership is your base membership rate.
Premium Membership provides enhanced presence and advertising. It offers a custom, SEO business profile page on the chamber website, additional social media postings along with our current social media promotions and a logo/photo advertisement on all primary pages. Cost for premium membership is the standard membership rate plus $99.

NEW MEMBERSHIP: $125 for the first year. Add $99 if choosing Premium Membership
All new members are charged $125 as their base rate for the first year (plus $99 if the premium membership is chosen). Upon the first anniversary of your membership, you will be charged your base rate as determined above for renewal (plus $99 if the premium membership is chosen).
Basic membership base rates are calculated by the combined number of employees and rental units (rooms, cabins, slips, etc.).
